Shrubs at Gotherington
Shrubs offer an ever changing but continuous backdrop to other more seasonal plants. They include evergreen and deciduous types and may be upright, bushy or ground covering in habit.
Shrubs can also be woody, bushy plants which are used in the garden to create height and structure. Many shrubs have attractive flowers and foliage at different times of the year so depending on what you are trying to achieve you need to note what time of the year you would like your shrub to look its best.
Think about the ideal height you would like your shrub to get to for its position. Make a note of how shady or sunny the position is and what type of soil you have. don’t forget to make a note of the space you have available too. There is a shrub available for every part of your garden.
