Rockery Plants at Gotherington
The art of making a great rockery is to let the stone dominate the rockery plants. Ensure you take great care in the positioning of the rocks and stone rather than seeing them as a backdrop. Most large rocks look better partially submerged, and the area around each stone must have gritty compost added to aid planting.
But the real beauty of a good rockery is that you can plant up or down hill and so making use of space and landscape in an architectural way.
Rockeries are probably best situated in a corner or against a background and should be made to look as natural as possible. They take time to show their real character if new but once matured can provide many years of perfect landscaping and gardening joy.
At Gotherington Nurseries, we have a great selection of suitable plants.
